Who's Jack Benny?

I recently went to see a cardiologist for the first time. As I gave his administrative assistant my personal information, she mentioned to me that she was 39.

"Oh," I said, "Jack Benny's age!"

"Who's Jack Benny?" she asked.

Last week, I asked my nutritionist, who is 30, if she ever heard of Jack Benny.

"No," she asked. "Who's Jack Benny?"

So the next time you meet anyone 39 years old or younger, ask them if they remember Abbott & Costello or Jack Benny or Burns and Allen or Fred Allen--or any of the other greats of yesteryear.
