Veterans Day

When I was in grammar school in the late 1940s and early 1950s, we always stood, faced east, and said a prayer at 11 a.m. on Nov, 11th, Veterans Day. Many of our fathers and uncles and brothers had fought in World War Two, and many of us had grandfathers who fought in World War One.

At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we remembered our veterans.

It was a good idea then, and it is still a good idea.

Mike Willett, a friend of mine since my boyhood, passed along this video and several others on this page. Thank you, Mike.
