From August 1996 to August 1997, I took classes in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Corel WordPerfect -- and typing. Yes, typing! Although I worked as a writer and editor most of my adult life, I never learned to type correctly! So I spent a year taking a typing class every weekday morning from 8 to 10 AM and then studied Word, Excel, and Word Perfect from 10:15 AM to 12:20 PM.
