Tuxedo Junction - Big Bands

The commuter train station in Berwyn, Illinois has been in service for more than 100 years. I was born at MacNeal Memorial Hospital around the corner and and raised two blocks from this station. This station is about seven miles southwest of Union Station in downtown Chicago, a very quick commute.

Tuxedo Junction features the sounds of the big bands,
the Swing Era, from the 1930s right through today!

Tuxedo Junction is dedicated to six big fans who are no longer with us:

• My parents, George (1910-1957) and Helen Spink (1916-1986)
• Anton Myrer (The Last Convertible)
• George T. Simon (Glenn Miller and His Orchestra)
• Dave Garroway (The 1160 Club, WMAQ Radio, Chicago)
• Mike Rapchak (The All-Night Show, WGN Radio, Chicago)

And, to one who still is, George Shearing, who showed me the way....
